Author's note

Sinder from The Fontry is a free eroded sans serif display font built from broad, blunt capital forms with uneven outlines, tight spacing, and a dense silhouette. Deep chips and ragged edges suggest hard wear.

Its grunge and DIY music associations make it convincing for gig posters, album packaging, and streetwear graphics, where the distressed surface can echo photocopied artwork, torn paper, scuffed ink, and battered equipment. Across those uses, the broken strokes recall ink lost from an overused screen or lettering rubbed from a weather-beaten sign, linking each setting through the same sense of abrasion, handling, and physical wear.

--

The font is somewhat extended and fully kerned. It is highly distressed, having been manually eroded on a workbench, further processed in a bitmap editor, and adjusted in a vector program. The font is called Sinder.

It includes an ash effect. Typing a left bracket or brace produces ashes from left to right as you type. Finish the text with a right bracket or brace to add ash terminals.

This font is a heavy-duty download. Make sure your programs can handle it, especially before converting it to vectors.

This is a limited freeware version. The commercial version includes a complete character set and lowercase characters.
