Author's note

Sir William by Adobe Systems Incorporated is a free old-school display font with towering, tightly drawn letters, sharp slab-like serifs, and dramatic shifts between broad strokes and hairline details. Curled tips and uneven contours give the lettering a mischievous, hand-cut look.

Theatrical posters are its strongest setting, since the tall silhouettes and exaggerated curves suggest vintage playbills without copying a formal historical style, and they also suit music packaging, pub branding, and character-driven merchandise. In those applications, the recurring hooks and bulbous curls can echo ornamental borders, illustrated faces, or curling smoke, turning the type into part of the picture rather than a neutral caption.
