Author's note

SketchBones by Mike Artell of Character is a free bone-themed cartoon display font with letters assembled from knobby, jointed forms. Its uneven outlines and scattered nicks give the drawing a lively, hand-sketched surface. The shapes are wiry rather than heavy.

Halloween event posters are an obvious home for this lettering, since the skeletal construction turns each title into part of the artwork. It also fits children's monster books, comic graphics, and game merchandise with a humorous spooky streak. On novelty snack packaging or a playful horror brand, the bone shapes can become a recurring product emblem.
