SM coarsisM by Dan Meyer of smashmethod is a free eroded serif display font with large, sharply cut letters battered by splatters, scratches, and missing patches. Its uneven edges and broken surfaces give the forms a raw photocopied look, but the classical serif shapes remain intact.
It can turn a music poster or album cover into a distressed graphic object. Streetwear merchandise and horror event graphics suit its abrasive inked texture. Across these uses, damaged print effects link typography with imagery rather than treating it as neutral text.
