Author's note

SMB Deluxe by David Fens is a free pixel font with tall, lean lettering and the economy of early console interfaces. Narrow strokes, open interiors, and occasional broad curves give characters an airy profile, unlike the dense weight of much arcade lettering.

Video game interfaces are its strongest setting, with light proportions suited to menu labels and dialogue. It also fits retro-tech posters and gaming merchandise, especially projects inspired by the clean, utilitarian side of 8-bit design.
