Spijker 08 Semi-condensed Light, by Piet Brantjes, is a free handwritten font with a wiry, sketchbook feel. The letters look quickly drawn with a single pen, mixing tall, pin-like strokes and loose curves into something raw, spiky, and a little offbeat in a very human way.
It makes sense on indie posters, zine covers, album artwork, cafe chalkboard-style branding, and event flyers where a free font should feel immediate rather than polished. Because the line keeps shifting between lanky verticals and casual loops, it also works well for short headlines, title cards, and logo experiments that want a restless, note-in-the-margin energy.
