Author's note

Spomenar is Nikola Kovanovic's free Cyrillic display font, and it leans into a stark late-modernist look with tall, tightly packed letters and blunt, architectural rhythm. The forms feel compressed and monumental, with heavy vertical emphasis, squared joins, and sharp cut-in notches that give the font a hard, poster-made presence.

It works well for book covers, cultural posters, music flyers, title cards, and short editorial headlines where a few words need that dense, urban block of lettering. As a free font, it also makes sense for monograms, mastheads, and strong logo sketches, especially when you want the narrow letters to stack closely and create an almost built-from-concrete texture.
