Stage, designed by Peter Wiegel, is a free retro display serif with narrow proportions and dramatic thick-to-thin strokes. Its tall letters combine flowing curves with sharply cut verticals. Rounded bowls and fine lower curls add an ornamental cast.
As theatrical lettering, it suits poster titles, cabaret programs, and playbills for live performance, where its elongated forms echo stage signage. Fashion editorials and boutique fragrance packaging can use the same refined contrast for an old-world ornamental note. These projects share a need for lettering that can read like part of a period-inspired emblem rather than ordinary text or a plain label.
