Author's note
Steak by Gyom.Typo is a free distressed wood-type display font with a rough, stamped Western feel. The caps are broad and blocky, with hefty serifs and scuffed edges that look worn by ink, weather, and pressure rather than neatly drawn.
That gritty texture gives the font a natural place on poster headlines, record sleeves, bar and barbecue branding, event flyers, and title cards where a free font needs a blunt, used-and-abused voice. It also works well for short cover lines and monograms, because the letters carry enough weight and erosion to feel graphic even in just a few characters.
