Author's note

Steamwreck by Neale Davidson is a free condensed display serif shaped by the tall, narrow proportions and forked ornament of nineteenth-century show lettering. Its capitals are dense, angular, and sharply theatrical.

Audiences drawn to heavy music, western entertainment, and horror will immediately recognize its severe manner in posters, album covers, and event branding. The packed vertical forms lend titles the impact of carved signage and suit projects built around spectacle, menace, or historical drama with a dark, rough carnival atmosphere. Sharp notches and flared feet also echo engraved borders, tattoo flash, and the pointed ornament of vintage fairground graphics.
