Sumdumgoi Regular Font

Sumdumgoi, Mike Allard's free chop suey display font from 1992, leans hard into the old faux-Chinese sign-painter look. The letters are heavy and theatrical, with hooked strokes, blade-like points, and broad horizontal sweeps that make ordinary Latin forms feel closer to hand-painted takeout signage than to neutral display type.

That flavor makes it a natural pick for restaurant branding, menu headers, poster titles, novelty packaging, party flyers, and retro storefront graphics. Used as a free font for short headlines, logo sketches, title cards, or a big drop-in initial, it works because the exaggerated bends and tapering ends carry the whole mood fast.
