Surface Bold by Bruno Herfst is a free chunky slab serif with an uneven, hand-cut silhouette. Broad strokes, blunt serifs, and slight shifts in width make the letters look sturdy but not mechanical.

Its vintage poster character suits gig posters, record sleeves, and independent shop branding, especially where a rough printed voice fits the subject. On food packaging, the blocky forms can become part of an illustrated label or stamp rather than serving as neutral type.
