Ten Ton Ballyhoo by S. John Ross is a free eroded display font with a rambunctious vintage showcard feel. The letters look chunky and hand-inked, with rough worn edges and patchy texture that make the font feel pulled from an old fairground sign or battered letterpress block.
It fits posters, beer labels, zine covers, event flyers, and title cards where you want loud wording with a little grime and humor. As a free font, it also makes sense for short headlines and drop caps, since the distressed shapes do most of the talking and keep even a few words feeling animated.
