Author's note

Thaleia, Harold Lohner's free blackletter display font, channels a theatrical old-world mood through broad, carved-looking strokes and heavy, curling letterforms. The letters feel rooted in medieval signwriting, with wedge-like tops, deep arches, and rounded inner turns that keep the texture bold rather than fussy.

It suits poster headlines, book covers, pub and festival branding, music packaging, and title cards where a historic accent needs real weight. As a free font, Thaleia also works for monograms, chapter openers, and short logo lettering, because those dense, sculpted shapes bring atmosphere quickly even in just a few words.
