Author's note

The Croach, a free curly display font by Christoph Kaplan, leans into a storybook blackletter mood with narrow, wavering letters and hooked strokes that feel hand-cut rather than polished. Its most memorable move is the rolling curl built into the rounds and joins, which gives the wordshape a slightly crooked, old-world rhythm.

That makes it a natural fit for fantasy covers, brewery labels, Halloween flyers, folk poster titles, and short editorial headings where a free font can bring in a medieval accent without going full historical revival. Use it for title cards, chapter openers, or logo-style wordmarks when you want letters that feel a little unruly and a little enchanted.
