Author's note

Thorne Shaded, Robert Thorne's free shaded display font, brings early 19th-century wood-type drama into a compact, poster-minded set of caps. The letters feel carved and theatrical, with broad serif forms paired to a heavy drop shadow that falls hard to one side, giving the font that bold Victorian signshop push.

It fits poster headlines, book covers, packaging labels, title cards, and pub or heritage branding where a little period swagger helps. As a free font, it works best in short lines and initials, because the deep shading gives even simple words the look of something printed from big old blocks.
