Author's note

Throw Down by Gene Buban is a free angular display font built from broad, irregular strokes. Sharp diagonal cuts and blunt corners give the letters a rough, hand-cut silhouette, with abrupt changes in width that keep the forms tense and forceful.

Its jagged shapes can echo torn-paper illustrations and hard-edged comic artwork in posters or game graphics. It also suits action-sports merchandise. On music packaging, the uneven geometry can become part of a band emblem, turning the name into artwork rather than neutral lettering.
