Author's note

Tienne Heavy by Vernon Adams is a free serif font with broad, weighty forms and sturdy bracketed serifs. Rounded shoulders soften the dense lettering, and the tall lowercase forms create a compact, strongly patterned line.

As a commanding editorial voice, it suits magazine covers and book jackets with literary or historical themes. Its substantial shapes also fit restaurant branding and traditional food packaging, especially when a warm, established character is wanted. Posters for theater productions or cultural events can use the same robust proportions to suggest authority without the severity of sharper display serifs.
