TobyFont-Emptyreduced Font

TobyFont-Emptyreduced, designed by Tobias Düsel and Ingo Zimmermann of ingoFonts Augsburg, is a free outlined cartoon display font with the loose bite of hand-cut lettering. Its tall, uneven capitals shift between blunt corners and bowed sides, with irregular inner shapes that make each letter look individually carved.

The rough, comic-book drawing suits music merchandise and skate branding, but it can also lend children's posters and game graphics a rowdy homemade streak. Those hollow centers can echo cut-paper illustrations or chunky border patterns, letting the lettering become part of the artwork rather than a neutral caption.

Twelve-year-old Tobias Dsel designed the characters for this font in 2002 during his family’s furlough in the USA. He drew the alphabet freehand in pencil on stationery.

The original font consists only of uppercase letters. Other characters, including punctuation marks and numerals, were derived from components of the capital letters.

In addition to the original outline-shadow version, TobyFont Empty, two variations are available: TobyFont Inside and TobyFont Full. Empty represents the typeface outline, Inside represents the fill, and Full combines both. All three versions have the same body size and can be overlaid congruently.

All fonts are available for free download from ingoFonts. The downloadable files contain only a reduced font consisting of uppercase and lowercase letters from A to Z.
