TokyoSoft Font

TokyoSoft, by John Cosgriff of Isis Fonts, is a free Japanese-style display font with a soft, rounded, Tokyo-signage attitude. The letters lean on chunky curves, squared circles, and kana-like strokes, giving the font a playful urban rhythm that feels closer to storefront graphics and transit-era pop than to formal calligraphy.

It works well for posters, music sleeves, game title screens, zine covers, cafe branding, and short packaging lines where a free font can bring in a quick hit of retro-futurist Japan. Because the shapes are so bold and reduced, TokyoSoft is especially convincing in brief headlines and logo-sized wording where those rounded, sign-like forms can do the talking.
