Traven by Ermedia Studio is a free retro display font with very heavy strokes and broad, tightly packed letters. Slanted cuts interrupt the otherwise solid silhouettes. Small interior openings and swollen curves make the lettering look almost overfilled, with angular edges adding a slightly offbeat finish.
Retro advertising is a convincing setting for this weighty lettering, especially on food packaging and promotional posters where the shapes can suggest abundance. It also fits diner branding, with its chunky curves and sharply cut edges lending themselves to a cheerful, oversized sign-painter look.
