Truebo Serif by Nils Merkel is a free high-contrast serif font with tall, imposing capitals and compact lowercase forms. Broad vertical strokes meet very fine crossbars and hairlines, giving the alphabet a crisp, sharply drawn structure. Flat slab-like serifs and unusually tall ascenders lend the lettering a slightly eccentric editorial manner.
For fashion and arts audiences, its dramatic proportions suit magazine covers and exhibition posters. It can also shape upscale packaging or cultural event graphics. Across these uses, the contrast between monumental capitals and lively lowercase letters supplies a recognizable signature.
