Author's note

Twentytwelve Slab Light, designed by Domenico Catapano, is a free light slab serif with an unusually spare, almost monoline build. Broad capitals and tall lowercase forms keep the lettering open and poised. The flat, unbracketed serifs are crisp rather than weighty.

Its cool contemporary take on the slab-serif tradition suits magazine mastheads, architecture publishing, and understated fashion branding. On stationery or premium food packaging, the lean lettering can form a quiet, structured product identity.
