Author's note

Typewriter Bold by Roger White is a free old-school slab serif display font with broad, dark letterforms. Its chunky serifs and softly uneven edges recall ink pressed firmly through a worn typewriter ribbon. The letters feel sturdy and slightly unruly.

It is especially convincing on posters, where the dense shapes give announcements a handmade, printed voice. Record sleeves and magazine covers can use the same blunt texture to suggest garage music, small-press publishing, or retro ephemera. On packaging, it can turn a product name into a stamp-like brand mark with an intentionally rough, mechanical edge.
