Author's note

Typographer Textur, by Dieter Steffmann, is a free medieval blackletter font with a stern, church-book texture and sharply cut rhythm. The letters lean on tall, faceted strokes, diamond-like joins, and angular inner spaces that give the font that dense Textura color without making it feel fussy.

It suits beer labels, folk festival posters, metal flyers, book covers, and title cards where a distinctly old-world voice matters more than softness. As a free font, it works best in short settings - names, mastheads, chapter openings, and drop-cap moments - because the repeated vertical beat and pointed turns create a strong, ceremonial tone fast.
