UK Number Plate by Gareth Attrill is a free road-sign sans serif from 2002 with the no-nonsense tone of British number plate lettering. The caps look narrow, upright, and hard-working, with heavy strokes, squared structure, and softly rounded corners that keep the geometry from feeling cold.
It fits projects that need an official, transport-flavored voice - vehicle graphics, garage branding, novelty plates, event signage, poster titles, and short title cards all make sense for this free font. Because the letters are so plainspoken and compact, it also works for monograms and brief cover lines where a practical civic feel matters more than ornament.
