Author's note

Unclassic Quill Condensed by Manfred Klein is a free uncial-inspired calligraphic display font with tall, narrow letterforms. Its changing stroke widths and hooked curves recall lettering made with a broad-edged pen. The irregular outlines keep it lively.

Illustrated medieval maps and fantasy artwork can use its pen-drawn shapes as part of the scene rather than a separate caption. It also suits book covers, game title screens, and event posters built around folklore or historical themes. The repeated pointed joins and sweeping curves echo quills, banners, and hand-drawn borders, linking the lettering directly to those subjects.
