Uncle Tom, created by High-Logic, is a free distressed display font with the blunt force of hand-cut lettering. Its uneven strokes shift sharply in width, and rough edges carry scattered nicks and ink-like flecks. The forms look unruly and unstable.
It can turn an event poster into a scraped, improvised sign, a strong role for underground music promotion. That raw surface also gives merchandise and gritty packaging a grunge texture. Editorial covers and horror game graphics can draw on the same damaged finish for scenes of disorder and abrasion.
