Author's note

Upper East Side, designed by David Rakowski, is a free high-contrast display serif with the poised elegance of fashion lettering. Sweeping curves meet exceptionally fine hairlines, and broad rounded letters sit beside long vertical strokes with a precise, pen-drawn quality.

Fashion, luxury, and metropolitan themes make it a convincing choice for boutique branding, fragrance packaging, and event invitations. Its dramatic shifts in stroke width also suit magazine mastheads and editorial cover lines, where the refined letterforms can echo the crisp styling of fashion photography.
