Author's note

Urania Semi Serif, designed in 2013 by David Espinosa of Type Sailor, is a free old-school display serif with an elegant, slightly eccentric profile. Its strongest feature is the pronounced shift between hairline strokes and broad, dark curves. Tall capitals carry clipped wedges and sharp peaks, then the rounded lowercase forms soften the pace without losing the formal edge.

Fashion and culture are natural subjects for branding and magazine covers. Fragrance packaging, arts event posters, and restaurant identities will appeal to designers and clients looking for period polish with a less predictable silhouette.
