Author's note

Valdemar by David F. Nalle is a free gothic caps font with a stern medieval voice. The letters carry sharp, flared strokes and uneven, hand-cut edges that feel closer to carved inscriptional lettering than polished blackletter, giving the font a rugged, old-world authority without becoming fussy.

It makes the most sense in book covers, fantasy game logos, chapter openers, poster titles, and heraldic monograms, where that chiseled mood can do real work. As a free font, Valdemar suits short lines and title cards especially well, because the caps have enough historical character to set a scene fast without needing extra ornament.
