Vollkorn by Friedrich Althausen is a free book serif with firm, traditional proportions and pronounced thick-to-thin stroke changes. Its bracketed serifs and softly modeled curves give the letters a sturdy, settled shape. The result is serious but not severe.
Its connection to traditional book typography makes it a convincing choice for novels, literary magazines, and museum publishing, where the measured forms suit sustained editorial material. Independent publishers and cultural institutions will also find it useful for exhibition catalogs and historically minded event programs.
