Vtks Fresh Mint by Douglas Vitkauskas is a free distressed calligraphic script with extravagant movement. Broad looping strokes and sharp tapers are surrounded by fine stray lines, giving the lettering the look of an energetic ink sketch revised several times on the page.
Its mix of formal flourishes and rough mark-making fits alternative music graphics, experimental fashion branding, and club event posters. The sweeping shapes can also become part of an illustrated magazine cover, where they echo drawn lines and gestural artwork. It is particularly convincing for a band name or event title meant to look unruly and handmade.
