Author's note

Want Some Candy by SpideRaY is a free playful display font mixing chunky solids, thin outlines, and crooked hand-cut shapes. Uneven heights and changing widths make each letter feel individually drawn.

Children's entertainment is its clearest setting, especially party posters and lively game graphics. It also suits candy packaging and novelty merchandise, where the mismatched forms suggest a mixed assortment. The font is strongest in deliberately rambunctious titles.

--

The creator found 51 letters from chocolate and candy bar names: 26 uppercase and 25 lowercase. The lowercase x had to be a final letter. The font also contains 7 numbers.

The numbers 2, 4, and 7 were not found; a candy cane is used for 7. The number 2 gave the font its name, based on the phrase “WANT SOME CANDY” from Predator. The number 4 led to the font being donated to help raise awareness of 4Children, registered charity number 288285. If you download the font, please donate whatever you can to the Charities Commission.
