Wide Latin, credited to Stephenson Blake with 1992 font data by URW, is a free broad display serif with emphatic wedge-like feet. Its extremely expanded capitals press thick verticals against sharp triangular details and narrow interior gaps. The silhouette is unmistakably theatrical.
Circus, rodeo, and old show-poster themes are the clearest match for its oversized proportions. It can also lend packaging and music merchandise the blunt spectacle of vintage advertising. The pointed serifs echo starbursts and marquee decoration, helping the lettering become part of an illustrated period concept.
