Author's note

Wypeout, designed by Gene Buban, is a free pixel display font with blunt, block-built letterforms. Its squared shapes are interrupted by fields of tiny dots, producing a coarse screen-print texture across the lettering. The hard edges and speckled transitions resemble low-resolution graphics passed through a worn copier.

Designers working in arcade, skate, or underground music culture could use it for game graphics, posters, and merchandise. Those settings share a taste for rough digital imagery, and the font can function as lettering and as part of the printed texture.
