Y-Grid by Daniel Zadorozny of Iconian Fonts is a free pixel font assembled from rigid, evenly sized square modules. Wide gaps break each stroke into a stark dot-matrix pattern.

An arcade game interface is its most convincing setting, since the lettering resembles an enlarged low-resolution screen. It can also shape electronic music posters, technology event graphics, and merchandise with an intentionally digital, grid-based look. The repeated square cells can continue through menus, badges, and background patterns, turning the type into part of the interface artwork rather than a separate label.
