Author's note

YatesFont by aws of FontStruct is a free pixel display font built from sharply stepped strokes and compact square cutouts. Its branching shapes feel mechanical and diagrammatic.

Arcade game graphics are the clearest fit because the stepped construction echoes early screen lettering and maze-like interface marks. The same angular build can give technology posters and electronic music merchandise a coded, industrial edge. Across these uses, the inset squares turn each letter into both type and a small circuit-like graphic emblem.
