Author's note

Zeichen Hundert Alt is a free public-information dingbat font of compact symbols. Its spare outlines and solid silhouettes depict transport, animals, people, and circular markers with the directness of vintage wayfinding graphics and illustrated index signs.

Travel and everyday public life are the clearest themes, making the set useful for transit maps, educational worksheets, local event signage, visitor guides, and editorial infographics. The plain, instantly recognizable imagery is especially suited to museums, schools, tourism groups, and designers creating historically flavored information systems.

This font includes older versions of German traffic signs from 1938 to 1990, including obsolete designs.
