Author's note

Apollyon font by David F. Nalle - Scriptorium Font Library is a free gothic typeface that looks like it was carved from black iron and tangled thorns. Heavy, ink-drenched strokes twist into barbed curves and clawed terminals, giving every word a sense of ritual and danger. The letters feel dense and smoky, almost like old spellbook titles or 90s underground metal logos, with just enough structure to stay legible at larger sizes.

Using Apollyon, you can push horror posters, metal band logos, dark fantasy book covers, occult-themed merch, Halloween event titles, and game splash screens into truly sinister territory. This free font shines when set large, letting the swirling spikes and hooks breathe. For supporting text, pair Apollyon with a plain, modern sans serif so the main wordmark stays the dramatic, gothic centerpiece.
