Author's note

Armor Piercing font by Nate Piekos is a free retro display typeface that hits like a barrage of steel spikes. Its ultra-tall, narrow letters feel hammered out of metal—rigid vertical strokes, tight spacing, and abrupt angles that give every word a compressed, high-impact punch. There’s a pulp-comic energy to it, like vintage serial titles crammed onto a grainy film poster, all tension and momentum.

Using Armor Piercing, headlines instantly look louder and more dangerous, even before you add color or texture. This free font shines on comic covers, game logos, sci-fi posters, exploitation movie art, gig flyers, and bold branding for edgy products. Pair it with a simple, wide grotesque sans in smaller sizes to balance its squeezed, towering shapes and keep layouts readable.
