Author's note
Asylum font by Brad Barham is a free decorative display font. Its letters look scraped, torn, and slightly warped, with ragged “bite marks” that feel like they were stamped in panic and dragged across rough paper. The uneven edges and jittery rhythm bring instant unease without needing extra effects.
Using Asylum, push it big on horror posters, haunted house flyers, escape-room signage, thriller cover art, punk zines, metal/industrial album titles, and gritty game splash screens. This free font works best when you give it room to breathe and keep the background simple so the distress reads crisp. Pair it with a clean sans like Helvetica or Inter for body text.
