Avignon by Nick Curtis is a free Art Deco display font built from tall capitals and dramatic changes in stroke width. Broad, sweeping curved forms meet fine uprights in the poised geometry of classic 1920s poster design. The silhouettes are crisp and theatrical.
A cinema poster is its strongest setting, with the sweeping curves and severe straight lines also fitting jazz event graphics, fashion branding, cocktail packaging, and stylish period book jackets. Across these uses, the sharply constructed capitals evoke the glamour of period marquees and elegant architectural lettering.
