Author's note

Bad Black Cat font by Heather Daniels is a free trash script typeface that turns every word into a row of slinking, inky cat silhouettes. The letters are bold, irregular, and a little mischievous, with chunky shapes that feel hand-cut and splashed onto the page. It has a scruffy, Halloween-ready attitude that reads like a creepy poster scrawled at midnight.

Using Bad Black Cat, you can give instant character to Halloween party flyers, spooky invitations, haunted house signs, horror zines, trick-or-treat bags, and seasonal social posts. This free font works best when it’s big and loud, letting the cat shapes and rough edges really show. Pair it with a plain, narrow sans serif for body text so the wild, witchy headline lettering stays in the spotlight.
