Author's note
Barbed Ink font by Mathieu Klomp is a free distorted display font. Its lettering feels like wet black ink pulled into thorny points, with wobbling curves, sharp flicks, and swollen ends that make every word look restless, raw, and a little dangerous.
Using Barbed Ink works beautifully for horror posters, underground zines, album covers, tattoo-shop promos, skate graphics, spooky event flyers, and gritty game titles. This free font has enough bite for short headlines and logos, and it pairs best with a plain sans serif so the wild strokes stay front and center.
