Author's note

Belmongo font by Marc André "Mieps" Misman of Miepsfonts / Homebrainbox is a free pixelated bitmap typeface that looks like it was pulled straight from a glitchy arcade cabinet. Its chunky, rectangular forms snap together like digital bricks, while the deliberate gaps and cutouts keep it from feeling heavy or muddy on screen. The rhythm is tight and grid-true, so even at tiny sizes the text stays crisp, bold, and unmistakably 8‑bit.

Using Belmongo, you can lock in a strong retro voice for game titles, HUD text, stream overlays, chiptune cover art, event posters, or bold UI buttons. The even spacing and sturdy blocks hold up in animated sprites and scrolling marquees just as well as in static logos. This free font pairs nicely with a clean geometric sans for body text—set Belmongo large for headings, then let the simpler companion handle longer copy.
