Author's note

Bookworm font by A.J. Palmer is a free comic typeface with a wonderfully bookish, scribbled charm. Its tall, wobbly letters feel like they’ve been doodled in the margins of a favorite novel—loose, a little quirky, yet still easily readable. The uneven strokes and bouncy rhythm give text a friendly, hand-lettered texture that feels warm and well‑worn, like a much‑loved paperback.

Using Bookworm, this free font shines on children’s book covers, chapter titles, reading logs, library signage, classroom posters, and lighthearted comics or zines. The playful forms keep things informal without turning messy, which helps longer phrases stay approachable. Try pairing Bookworm with a clean sans serif for body text and let Bookworm handle headings and large labels to keep your layouts fun but still organized.
