Author's note

Broken Up font by JSH creates is a free modern gothic display font. Built around jagged, shard-like strokes, it looks carved from black glass—angular, high-contrast, and slightly feral. The letters lean and slice with uneven rhythm, giving headlines a kinetic snap while keeping forms surprisingly legible at a glance.

Using Broken Up, you get gritty drama without clutter—great for horror posters, metal or punk logos, skate brands, game titles, Halloween promos, album art, and zines. This free font thrives oversized, with tight tracking to intensify the bite. Pair it with a clean grotesk or geometric sans for body copy to let those fractured edges do the shouting.
