Author's note

BuschGardenz font by Dennis Ludlow is a free retro serif typeface with the drama of a theme park entrance sign. Its tall, flaring letterforms and swooping curves feel carved rather than printed, like chunky wood painted in deep, glossy black. The tight rhythm and strong verticals pull the eye forward, giving any title a sense of grand arrival and old-school spectacle.

This free font shines on amusement or attraction branding, fantasy book covers, adventure game logos, magic show posters, storybook titles, and event signage. Using BuschGardenz in large sizes lets the sculpted shapes breathe; pair it with a simple geometric sans for body text to keep the ornate character work crisp and readable.
