Author's note

CA Misfit, designed by Stefanie Koerner of {pheist}, is a free eroded display font with the unruly weight of cut-and-pasted lettering. Broad, blunt forms shift abruptly into narrower characters, and several strokes look offset or roughly joined. Scratches, chipped edges, and uneven ink coverage keep the silhouette raw rather than uniformly distressed.

It can turn a title into part typography and part torn poster, a useful role for music packaging and concert promotion. Skate merchandise and independent fashion branding also suit its abrasive, photocopied texture. Its strongest setting is a poster, where shifting widths recall assembled street graphics.
